In Alaska since 1979 and on the Kenai Peninsula for over 24 years, Carole Okamoto and her husband opened the A Hiada-way apartment rental in 2006. Carole invites travelers into small-town Alaska life with her gracious hosting and story telling at A Haida-way. She makes sure guests not only experience privacy and quiet, but also get a peek into life in Alaska. Carole, an Alaska Native, has decorated the place with Haida and tribal art, as well as Alaska wildlife prints.
Carole will share stories about fishing, sewing furs, and Alaska history. Or she’ll direct you to the best clamming spot or recommend guides who know the best fishing holes.
